FILLED November 2017   PART TIME POSITION  (18.5 hours per week)

The HOME INSTRUCTION FOR PARENTS OF PRESCHOOL YOUNGSTERS (HIPPY) program is a home-based program that teaches parents to be their preschool child’s first teacher and to prepare their 3-5 year olds for school. The role of the Home Visitor involves weekly visits to participant’s homes to introduce HIPPY program materials and role-playing activities. Home Visitors will attend weekly in-service training and other staff development opportunities as they arise.

Qualifications include: Eligible for participation in the HIPPY program, be a parent of a three or four-year-old; good oral and written English communication skills, including good reading skills; demonstrated emotional maturity and sensitivity to the needs and interests of the targeted population. You are organized and task oriented. Knowledge of the community and local/ regional resources for children and families is required.  Multilingual skills would be an asset.  A valid class 5 driver’s license, $2 million insured vehicle, and First Aid Certification are required.  Prior to final hiring, Police Record and CYIM checks, along with a driver’s abstract, must be provided.  Salary is based on 80 hours/month.
